Why is it dangerous to live in the past?

Living in the mind is generally dangerous. If you worry about the past, you move towards depression, and if you worry about the future, then anxiety increases.
To live in the mind means to be constantly in thoughts. You can be sad about the past, remember, worry, try to change, but all this is useless and only leads to mental suffering. Women may worry about lost youth, their ex-husband, blame their school years or parents for all their failures. Men may regret that they previously earned more, had many opportunities, lost a position or lost love. You can think about a good childhood past with nostalgia and sigh, regretting the lost fortune. They often regret the negative past and that it cannot be corrected, but they really want to. Living in the past immobilizes a person. Obsessive thoughts and emotions can accompany you throughout your life. The main feeling here is RESULT — a feeling of injustice. About 90% of my clients live in the past in one way or another. This part of the personality is mired in claims, resentments, anger and fear. It certainly interferes with life, destroys the body, leads to isolation from people or avoidance of new things.

The old thing is burdensome. Imagine that you are walking with your pockets full of stones. Let’s try to get rid of them together.
Exercise “Pocket” (inspired by parables about the Weight of the past)
