I recently wrote an article about midlife crisis in men.

And today I want to illustrate with a real example what unpredictable consequences a man’s desire to assert himself, feel macho, get new sexual experiences, and amuse his ego with a connection with a fresh young “body” can lead to.

Names and details have been changed. The client herself asked to publish this story, apparently as a warning to men.

So here it is. Anton and Lena lived together for 17 years. Their son Dana is 16 years old.

Anton has a small construction company — they built custom cottages. Lena is a cosmetologist. The son is a schoolboy.

We lived safely, securely, our own house, two cars, holidays abroad.

Anton is a responsible, kind, gentle person. He is 45 years old. Lena is an optimist, a bright person, a sweet, beautiful woman. She is 37 years old.

Everything was generally good, but my husband sometimes started drinking. For a week or two. Lena immediately turned to a narcologist, they nursed her husband and brought him out of his drinking bout. This happened once every six months, it was tolerable. The rest of the time Anton did not drink and lived a normal life.

Suddenly, “one fine day,” as usually happens, Lena received a call from an unfamiliar girl. She called herself Nastya. She introduced herself as Anton’s “illegitimate” daughter…
