Modern scientific psychosomatics. Features of the approach.
Today there are four main directions in psychosomatics. Let’s call them conventionally: folk, esoteric, spiritual and scientific.
The so-called “ folk ” psychosomatics is based on direct associations between the suffering organ (or part of the body) and the function it performs. Louise Hay’s famous disease tables can perhaps be attributed here. This direction of psychosomatics gives an instant answer to the question of what this or that disease is about, but it is not clear what to do with this knowledge next…
The esoteric direction of psychosomatics refers to such concepts as “energy”, “karma”, “past lives” and even has some tools for relieving problems, but does not give lasting results due to the fact that the true cause of painful conditions is not eliminated.
The spiritual direction is a very environmentally friendly movement in psychosomatics, considering the cause-and-effect relationships of “sins” and diseases. It addresses ideological issues, explains a lot from a spiritual point of view, and gives an ecological perception of the world. But… it doesn’t cure.
The knowledge of modern scientific psychosomatics is based on scientific research and biological laws. Modern science has a huge layer of research from psychologists, doctors, and physiologists who have analyzed the relationship between mental and physical states.
