Intuitive Eating
Hi all!
Continuing the topic of intuitive eating, I want to touch on the reasons why we overeat.
One of the reasons is eating emotions. They may be different for everyone. Food still brings us pleasure. Therefore, when we experience an emotion and cannot cope with living it, we look for a tool for suppressing/forgetting it and possibly living it. And since food is a familiar way for us, the first thing we reach for is it. For example, I noticed that I constantly start eating at a moment of loneliness and the inability to be interesting to myself. But once I recognized this pattern, identified the emotion I was avoiding, and began to experience it instead of bingeing, the overeating stopped.
These are also our established habits. For example, eating in excess of the norm on holidays or with someone for company, as if not taking into account the feeling of hunger and fullness. Another example is to eat food in advance when you don’t feel like it at all, but you have to. Interesting :)
To the above, I would add the following fact. I have noticed more than once that many of those around me believe that there is healthy food and forbidden/unhealthy food. At this moment , a person again gives privilege to logic, but bypasses the self-awareness of the body and organism. And he simply begins to choke on greens and vegetables, thereby disrupting the harmonious background and impairing health. What intuitive nutrition says, try to feel what your body wants, what product. To do this, I recommend not forbidding…
