Children, their fantasies or lies?

The inner world of every child is a whole universe. In this universe there is a place for everything, different feelings, experiences, desires, thoughts. In the cognitive sphere, the child’s imagination develops, already at 2–3 years it makes its way from “cognitive” to “emotional”, then at the age of 5–6 years it becomes “planned”. That is, the child creates images based on his practical, intellectual and emotional experience. Imagination can be verbal, this includes the word creativity, i.e. based on speech. It can be musical, motor and non-verbal — it can be fantasies, but again based on what is seen. Many children love to fantasize, and sometimes it is difficult for parents to separate fantasies from lies. But the child himself makes it clear to his parents with the words “Pretend” and “As if”, and brings fantasy into the game. Even in children’s fantasies, children’s fear, aggressive manifestations, and rivalry can manifest themselves. And then you can help the child to play out some fear with the help of imagination. Everything is good in moderation, sometimes a child may develop pathological fantasy, but this is a separate topic. If we sum up fantasy, then it is based on the flight of imagination.

When communicating with adults, preschool children manifest personal motives. The child strives to receive emotional evaluation from his significant adult — praise, affection, approval.
