Childhood and adolescent aggression: where does it come from?
In my opinion, the degree of aggression among teenagers is increasing every year. Favorable soil for the growth of aggression among young people is not only the family environment, but also the media.
It is especially important to talk about aggression in connection with the massacres committed by young people recently.
Definition
Adolescent aggression is aggressive behavior towards oneself and others caused by the transition (puberty) period. Aggression manifests itself as a result of unfavorable resolution of issues related to the teenage crisis. Unfortunately, knowledge about the characteristics of adolescence and its specifics is not widespread in society. As a result, we are seeing a growing level of aggressive behavior among young people, which manifests itself not only in physical damage to various objects, but also in physical violence towards people around them.
The teenage crisis is a time period in a person’s life, which, according to my personal observations, begins at 11–13 years old and ends at 17–19. Someone may be in a teenage crisis longer, up to 21–23. The teenage crisis is associated with the desire of a young person (it doesn’t matter whether he is a girl or a boy) to start leaving parental care and plan his life independently. Under these conditions, a teenager urgently needs both a certain independence and a mentor who can instill this independence.
